The short version: this website doesn't use tracking cookies or ads, and we never sell your information. We only get personal details when you choose to send them to us, for example through the contact form or a job application. We use them to reply to you and to review applications, and nothing else.

1. Who we are

This website is run by Chea Games ("Chea", "we", "us" or "our"), an independent studio that makes games on the Roblox platform. We are responsible for (the "controller" of) the personal information described in this policy.

2. What this policy covers

This policy explains how we handle personal information when you:

  • visit this website (the "Website");
  • contact us, for example with a question, a support request, or a business or press enquiry;
  • apply to work with us, as an employee, contractor or freelancer; or
  • deal with us as a business contact, partner or supplier.

Our games run on Roblox. When you play a Chea game, your Roblox account, purchases and chat are handled by Roblox Corporation under the Roblox Privacy and Cookie Policy. Inside our games we only see what Roblox makes available to developers, such as your Roblox user ID, username and display name, and your in-game progress, which we save so your game is there when you come back. We don't receive your real name, email address, password or payment details from Roblox.

3. Information we collect

TypeExamplesWhere it comes from
Contact detailsName, email address, Roblox username, Discord username and Discord IDYou, when you use the contact form, apply for a role, or email us
Message contentWhatever you write to us, plus any links you includeYou
Application detailsThe role you're applying for, portfolio links, past work, experience, and anything else you choose to shareYou, and public profiles you point us to (such as your Roblox games or portfolio)
Application form detailsYour age group (13-15, 16-17 or 18+), time zone, availability, any bans or removals you tell us about, links to your work, your answers to the questions, and your written answers. For tester applications also the platforms you play on and whether your Roblox account is age-verified (a yes or no, never your ID or face scan)You, through the application form. We also check that your Roblox username exists using Roblox's public service
Business detailsCompany name, job title, contact details, and payment details for contractors we payYou or your organisation
Technical dataIP address, browser and device type, and the pages requested. When you send a form, a short-lived scrambled (hashed) copy of your IP address, and for applications a hashed copy of your Roblox username, which we keep for up to 7 days to limit spam and duplicate applicationsYour browser, processed by our hosting provider to deliver the Website and protect it from abuse

Applications work a little differently: your answers are sent to us by email and to a Discord channel that only our review team can see. Applications are kept separate from messages sent through the contact form. They are not stored in a database on the Website. While you fill in the form, a draft of your answers is saved in your own browser (local storage) so you don't lose it. It never leaves your device, and it is deleted when you send the application. You can clear it any time by clearing your browser's site data.

We don't ask for sensitive information (such as health data or government IDs) through the Website. Please don't send us passwords, payment card details or other private information in a message.

4. How we use your information

  • to reply to your messages and help with support requests about our games;
  • to review job applications, contact applicants, and arrange work and payment with people we hire. For applications with multiple choice questions we automatically mark those answers to help our reviewers, but a person makes every decision and nothing is decided by that mark alone;
  • to work with partners, creators, press and suppliers;
  • to keep the Website and our games running, secure, and free of spam and abuse;
  • to understand, in aggregate, how our games and Website are used so we can improve them; and
  • to meet our legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

We don't use your information for advertising, we don't build marketing profiles, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone. If we ever want to use your information for a new purpose that isn't compatible with the reason we collected it, we will tell you first.

5. Legal bases

Where data protection laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, we rely on these legal bases:

  • Consent: when you tick the boxes on our contact form or application form. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Contract: when we need your information to take steps towards, or carry out, an agreement with you, such as hiring you.
  • Legitimate interests: to run and secure our studio, Website and games, in ways that don't override your rights.
  • Legal obligation: when the law requires us to keep or share information.

6. Who we share it with

We only share personal information when it's needed:

  • Service providers who help us run things, such as our website host (Bluehost) and the tools our team uses to receive and answer messages (such as Discord or an email provider). When we check your Roblox username on an application, that username is sent to Roblox. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
  • Our team, limited to the people who need it to reply to you or review your application.
  • Professional advisers, such as lawyers or accountants, where needed.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect the safety of players or others.
  • A buyer or successor, if Chea or its games are ever sold, merged or transferred. This policy would continue to protect your information.

7. Cookies

This Website doesn't set any advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary security measures to protect the Website from bots and attacks. If we ever add optional cookies or analytics, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

8. Children

Many people who play Roblox games are young, so we take children's privacy seriously. This Website is not designed to collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we don't knowingly do so without a parent or guardian's permission. Our contact form and application forms ask you to confirm you are 13 or older, or that a parent or guardian has said you can contact us. Our tester application also asks for your age group so we can tell whether an applicant is under 18. We may ask a parent or guardian to confirm before we invite a younger applicant to a test session, and we don't ask any applicant for their real name, address or ID.

If you're a parent or guardian and think your child has sent us personal information without your permission, pleasecontact us and we will delete it. If we learn we've collected a child's information without the permission the law requires, we delete it.

Inside our games, Roblox provides the parental controls, age checks, chat filtering and spending limits. Parents can manage these in the Roblox account settings.

9. How long we keep it

  • Messages and support requests: up to 12 months after the conversation ends, unless we need them longer to resolve an issue.
  • Job applications: up to 12 months, so we can contact you about future roles, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. This covers every copy, including the email and the Discord message. If we hire you, we keep what we need for the working relationship.
  • Spam-prevention fingerprints: up to 7 days (the hashed IP address for 1 hour).
  • Business and payment records: for as long as tax and accounting laws require.

When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.

10. International transfers

Our team and our service providers may be located in different countries, including the United States, so your information may be processed outside the country where you live. When we transfer personal information from places like the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the Standard Contractual Clauses our providers offer.

11. Security

We use sensible measures to protect your information. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), limiting access to people who need it, and choosing reputable service providers. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you when the law requires us to.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy;
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your information;
  • receive your information in a portable format;
  • withdraw your consent at any time (this doesn't affect anything we did before you withdrew it); and
  • complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner's Office. We'd appreciate the chance to sort things out with you first.

To use any of these rights, contact us. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request, and we aim to reply within one month. We will never treat you differently for using your privacy rights.

13. California residents

If you live in California, the CCPA (as amended by the CPRA) gives you these rights:

  • Right to know: the categories and specific pieces of personal information we've collected about you in the last 12 months, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we shared it with. The categories are listed in sections 3 and 6.
  • Right to delete and right to correct your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
  • No sale or sharing: we do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. This includes the information of consumers under 16.
  • Sensitive information: we don't use sensitive personal information for any purpose beyond what the law allows.
  • Non-discrimination: we will never deny you a service or treat you differently for using these rights.

You or an authorised agent can make a request through our contact page. We will verify the request before acting on it, and we may ask an agent for proof that you authorised them.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Website, our games or the law change. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change is significant, we will make it clear on the Website.

15. Contact us

If you have questions about this policy or how we handle your information, reach us through our contact page. You can also message us through our Roblox group.
